Disclaimer: I did not make this recipe, I do not own it. It is just my husband's favorite bun recipe so I decided to put it here for y'all to enjoy. <3
- Parchment Paper
- 3/4 cup chilled whole milk
- 1 tsp active dry yeast
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- Steamer basket for pot
- Cut 7 small squares of parchment paper
- Add milk and yeast into a bowl and mix well
- Add flour and mix until clumpy
- Knead with your hands for at least 10 minutes (if using stand mixer with dough hook: 5 minutes)
- Proof (leave standing) for 5 minutes
- Divide dough into 7 pieces
- Roll pieces into an oval and bring top and bottom to center before pinching the edges together to seal
- Place ball on parchment paper and round it out in your hands
- Transfer buns to steamer basket
- Proof for an hour with the lid covered
- Steam buns for 8 minutes
